The global effective production capacity of prebaked anodes is approximately 40 million tons per year, with China accounting for 28 to 29 million tons annually, representing around 70% of the global total. China is the world's largest production and export base for prebaked anodes. The widespread adoption of retort calciners in domestic operations has made waste heat power generation a key method for energy conservation and carbon emission reduction in carbon factories. After nearly two decades of technological advancements, waste heat recovery in the carbon industry has matured. Through four product iterations, our company's boiler primarily adopts a vertical membrane water wall structure with flue gas flowing downward, combining gravity settling for dust removal and equipped with soot blowers to address dust fouling issues. This boiler boasts high energy efficiency, stably matching the continuous production conditions of carbon lines to recover waste heat from 850–960°C calcination flue gas, generating medium-pressure intermediate temperature, sub-high-pressure, or even high-pressure steam for power generation. Additionally, SNCR and SCR spaces are reserved in the intermediate flue at the front of the superheater and the rear of the evaporator, along with detachable external economizers to mitigate nitrogen oxide emissions in flue gas and manage emergency pipe bursts caused by sulfur-induced corrosion. However, factors such as dust and petroleum coke volatiles in flue gas pose operational challenges like sticky ash accumulation, low-temperature corrosion, and tube bundle wear, while thermal load fluctuations may affect steam output. During engineering design, our company effectively controls boiler flue gas temperature, selects corrosion-resistant wear-resistant materials, and designs reliable bypass systems to ensure stable and continuous operation of carbon production lines.
